Mary E. Rutledge

Age 96, of New Hudson, formerly of Royal Oak and Garden City, passed away on November 27, 2019.  She was born on November 20, 1923, in Royal Oak, Michigan; daughter of Earl and Gertrude (nee Wells) Smith. She graduated from Royal Oak High School; Class of 1941.  Mary was united in marriage to Roy L. Rutledge on October 12, 1946; they spent 64 loving years together as husband and wife until his death on July 8, 2011.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother; she will be missed by all who loved her.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Karl (Mary C.) Rutledge, Frances (Joseph) Lobbestael, Roy (Dyan) Rutledge, Jr., and JoAnne Thacker; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Rutledge-Price; 25 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Kevin Rutledge, her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Private family services will be held.  Mary and her husband Roy will be laid to rest together at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
