Donald Joseph Mcqueen

February 25, 1966 — May 15, 2023

Donald J. McQueen, age 57, Buzz, Buzzard, the Legend, longtime resident of Livonia, passed away May 15, 2023. He was born on February 25, 1966 in Southfield, MI; son of Robert and Rowena (McCarthy) McQueen. Don grew up in Redford before moving to St. Clair where he graduated from St. Clair High School, class of 1984.  Following high school, he received his CDL and began a career in trucking. Don was united in marriage to Kimberly A. Tranchemontagne on June 25, 1992; they spent 30 years laughing, flirting, and loving one another.

Don was a skilled truck driver with Reliable Transport for over 30 years. His prized possession was the truck he owned and operated. Don took great pride in his truck and modified it with lights and chrome. Well respected at work, Don had a large network of associates ranging from other drivers to customers to vendors, many of whom became great friends throughout the years.

The hobbies he enjoyed the most were tinkering in the garage and fixing things around the house. He had a love for old farm life, including antique barns and tractors. Don had a passion for the bagpipes. On any given day you could find Don spending time with his cat, typically they were found snacking on bacon or fish sticks together. Don was a big fan of hockey; he loved watching his kids play, coaching their teams, and cheering for the Red Wings. Don enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood, relaxing by the pool, riding bikes with the family, and going up north. Above all else he loved to make his family happy and always put their needs first. He cared deeply about his wife and kids and showed his love in various ways. He was incredibly proud of his family and liked to show them off. Don’s sense of humor and loyalty to his family and friends will be missed.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly McQueen; his kids, Robert, Kristin, Chuck, and Donald; the infamous cat, S.P.; his siblings, Scott (Tina) McQueen, Ann (Michael) Morris, Mark (Della) McQueen, Colleen (Gregory) Matlas, Charles (Janice) McQueen, James McQueen, Julie (Mark) Behrendt, and Susan McQueen-Ray; his mother-in-law, Veronica Tranchemontagne; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Anthony Tranchemontagne, and his brother-in-law Larry Ray.

A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at Lazy J Ranch, 625 S. Hickory Ridge Road, Milford.
