Beverly M. Shaffer, age 77, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on April 24, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1946 in Laurelton, New York; daughter of Harry and Laura (Mitchell) Moles. She spent her childhood in Closter, New Jersey and graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, New Jersey; class of 1964. Following graduation, she completed professional secretarial training at Katharine Gibbs School in New York. Beverly was united in marriage to Steven H. Shaffer on September 9, 1972; spending over 52 years devoted to their love.
Beverly worked as an administrative assistant for various companies throughout the years including Detroit Diesel and Ford Motor Company. She ultimately stopped working to care for her mother.
Beverly was a member of the Farmington YMCA SilverSneakers and took advantage of the many classes they had to offer. She was an avid traveler; her favorite destination was the French Quarter in New Orleans. Beverly would often accompany her husband on business trips and was able to visit every major city in the United States and Canada. She loved dogs, especially the Westie breed. For years, Beverly was a dedicated fan of The Bold & The Beautiful soap opera. She enjoyed going to the movies to watch a good romance and made it a point to watch Gone with the Wind several times a year. Beverly was a wonderful friend and cherished the time she spent with her girlfriends, including weekly luncheons. She was incredibly strong and despite battling cancer for the past several years, Beverly was determined to live her life to the fullest. A beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Steven Shaffer; her sisters, Barbara (Leo) Griffin and Patricia (James) Clark; brothers-in-law, Douglas (Suzy) Shaffer and Cliff (Diana) Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private cremation services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Michigan Humane , 30300 Telegraph Rd., Ste. 220, Bingham Farms, MI 48025.
