Willie D. “Dee” Snow

Age 99, of South Lyon, formerly of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on June 18, 2021. She was born October 28, 1921 in Pryorsburg, Kentucky; daughter of Hint and Lou Annie (nee McAlpin) Bone.    Dee was united in marriage to Alvie Snow on January 19, 1942; they spent 43 years devoted to one another until his death on June 5, 1985.

Dee worked for R.L. Polk in Southgate where she did mainly clerical work such as payroll and mailings.  She retired in 1989 after more than 30 years with the company.  She was a life member of the Eastern Star Chapter 443 in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Dee enjoyed gardening and canning.  She made delicious freezer jam and the excellent pies she made were often given to family and friends when they were sick. Dee’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She cherished the time she spent with them and cared for her great grandchildren for many years.  Lovingly known as “Meme,” she was immensely proud of her great grandchildren and their accomplishments.  She supported them in all their activities throughout the years, including many sporting events for Steven and dance recitals for Meagan.  Dee was genuinely loved and will be missed by those who knew her.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Anna Shurmur; her granddaughter, Rhonda (Steve) DeLuca; her great grandchildren, Meagan DeLuca and Steven DeLuca; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Phillip Bone, Henry Bone, and Fate Bone.

The visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Clark Cemetery in Hickman County, Kentucky on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Noon.
