William R. Ader
Age 77, of Northville, passed away November 5, 2021. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan; son of Ralph Edward and Betty Jane (Ellis) Ader. Bill was united in marriage to Lynn D. Schafer Lincoln on June 27, 1970; they spent 51 years together dedicated to their love and family.
He graduated from Saginaw High School, class of 1962. Bill continued his education at the University of Michigan where he was an active member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Ford Motor Company quickly recruited him. Bill worked as a Engine Design Engineer; staying loyal to Ford for 33 years until he retired on January 1, 2000.
Bill was passionate about his 1970 Boss 302 Mustang and was proud to be the original owner. If something was broken, he could fix it using his inventive and ingenious skills. Bill was very intelligent, keeping his mind active solving crossword puzzles and sudoku. He tried motor racing for a short while until he figured out being a spectator was a better fit for his nerves. Bill enjoyed spending time on the golf course with friends swinging often. Although he was not the best golfer in his group, he was of the elite few to get a hole-in-one at Fox Hills. He had a dry sense of humor and loved a healthy dose of sarcasm. Bill loved every kind of animal. He took care of the animal sanctuary in his yard, from the feral kittens to feeding the birds. Bill fostered and loved playing with many kittens from the humane society. He was a devoted husband and a great provider for his family.
Bill is survived by his wife Lynn; his children, Elizabeth (Charles) Hempel, Todd (Janene) Lincoln, and William (Jenn) Ader; his sister Suzanne Calcaterra; and his grandchildren, Lindsy Haber, Gabrielle Lincoln, Austin Lincoln, Kensington Ader, Zane Ader, and Rainie Ader. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Warren Calcaterra.
