Virginia R. Lemons

Age 97, of Howell formerly of Northville, passed away on May 3, 2021. She was born July 5, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Henry and Rose (nee Karpinski) Haranczak.

Virginia grew up in Detroit. She married Frank Tomaszycki and was widowed at a young age with four school-age children to raise. Virginia worked various jobs to support her children.  Her main focus was being a mom and homemaker. Years later, Virginia was united in marriage to Russell D. Lemons.  They were married for 55 years until his death on December 25, 2017. Virginia enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida for several years. She enjoyed spending time in her floral garden and keeping her garden beautiful.

Virginia is survived by her cherished children, Patricia (Robert) Jankowski, Dennis (Evelyn) Tomaszycki, and Pamela (Fil) Superfisky; her daughter-in-law Barb Tomaszycki; her brother Frank (Mary) Haran; her grandchildren, Dawn Richardson, Ann (Andrew) Kenzie, Michael (Kristen) Superfisky, Katherine Superfisky, Lisa (Stephen) Antoni, Dennis (Kate) Tomaszycki, David Tomaszycki, Kim (Russ) Semon, Sheila (Pat) Monahan, Greg (Dawn) Tomaszycki, and Michelle Tomaszycki; her great grandchildren, Stephen (Emily) Antoni, Sarah Antoni, Lauren Antoni, Jeremy Semon, Stevie Semon, Ryan Tomaszycki, Colin Tomaszycki, Nathan Monahan, Madeline Kenzie, Connor Kenzie, and Kiana Superfisky; and her great-great grandchildren, Max, Roman, and Enzo Antoni. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Tomaszycki and Russell Lemons; and her son Francis Tomaszycki.

She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly with her husband Russell. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association .
