Virginia S. Brown
Age 82, of West Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022. She was born on August 23, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky; daughter of John William and Anne Pearl (Suter) Schmitt. She graduated from Southern High School in Louisville, KY, class of 1957. Virginia was united in marriage to Edward J. Brown on July 29, 1961.
As a young adult, Virginia focused on her career as an executive administrative assistant in Kentucky for a decade before beginning her most important job as a mother. After moving to Michigan in 1973, she continued to focus on family before returning to the workforce for another 25 years as a dedicated employee of the Bloomfield Hills Public Schools.
Virginia cherished being the central figure in the lives of her family. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a proud Grandmother. Her sweet and gentle personality made her a wonderful friend and sister. Her quiet light and bright laughter will continue to warm our hearts.
Virginia is survived by her husband Edward J. Brown; her children, Todd (Lynn) Brown and Jennifer (Wes) Kern; her brother Jack Schmitt; and her grandchildren, Keith, Gloria, Hayden, and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley Anderson, and her sister-in-law Barbara Schmitt.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 10am until 11am with a funeral service beginning at 11am at Oakland Hills Community Church, 37150 West 8 Mile, Farmington Hills. She will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
