Timothy J. Funke

Timothy J. Funke, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Alexander J. and Patricia (Hughes) Funke. Tim lived most of his life in Northville and Plymouth. He was a proud graduate of Northville High School, class of 1975.

Tim worked as an assembly line worker at Ford Automotive Company, where his career in the automotive industry ignited his passion for muscle cars. He admired their sleek design and relished the exhilaration of driving them. Tim found solace in the outdoors and nurtured a lifelong love of fishing. His fishing adventures began in his youth at a private pond on Main Street in Northville, where he proudly caught a 10-inch bluegill. A lover of all animals, Tim had a special fondness for dogs. He lived life on his own terms and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Tim is survived by his brothers, Tom Funke, Ed (Barbara) Funke, and Matt (Lisa) Funke; his nieces, Marina Funke, Brooke Funke, and Kate Funke; and his nephew Erik Funke. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tim’s memory can be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley , 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
