Thomas L. Homrich

December 21, 1932 — April 6, 2023

Thomas Lee Homrich, age 90, of Ocala, Florida formerly of Northville, passed away April 6, 2023. He was born on December 21,1932 In Grand Rapids, Michigan; son of Forrest and Anne (Hammink) Homrich. He grew up in Grand Rapids Michigan and graduated from Central High School; class of 1951. Following high school, he attended Cornerstone University (formally Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary) in Grand Rapids where he earned a Diploma in General Biblical Studies. He was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Kehrl on June 1, 1963, they spent 57 years devoted to one another until her death on June 6, 2020.

For over 25 years, Thomas worked for Pyc-Davis Graphics in Detroit as the maintenance supervisor. He then went to work at Berean Baptist Church of Livonia as the custodian until moving to Florida.

Thomas was an active member of Berean Baptist Church in Livonia. His greatest passion was visiting seniors in nursing homes with the TLC Ministry that he founded. Through this ministry, Thomas spent countless hours sharing his message of faith and leading bible studies. Upon moving to Florida, he unofficially continued his ministry visiting nursing homes each week up until his death. He joined Oakcrest Baptist Church in Ocala where he served an Elder for a short period of time.

Thomas liked to keep busy and enjoyed being with people. He kept his mind sharp by tinkering and fixing anything he acquired that was broken. He also enjoyed playing golf and occasionally fishing. Thomas was an avid reader, most often religious books that he would read and study for hours on end to be later used during Sunday lessons and bible studies. He was a devoted husband and lovingly cared for his wife throughout the years. Thomas was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend; he will be missed by all who loved him.

Thomas is survived by his loving children, Gregory Homrich, Thomas (Pamela) Homrich, Jr., Anne Sherd, Joyce Kukulski, Elizabeth (Mike) Vander Meulen, Lawrence (Kim Berzon) Homrich, and Timothy (Pattie Nelson) Homrich and ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Homrich; his daughters-in-law, Patricia Homrich and Lois Homrich; his son-in-law, Joe Kukulski; his parents; and his brother, Richard Homrich.

The visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Pastor Terry McIntosh from Berean Baptist Church in Livonia will officiate the service. Mr. Homrich will be laid to rest at Thayer Cemetery in Northville.
