Terry Lee Stevens, age 71, a longtime resident of Williamston, passed away January 2, 2021. He
was born on October 7, 1949, son of Keith and Dorothy (nee Jehnsen) Stevens. Terry grew up in
Lansing, where he graduated from Lansing Eastern High School; Class of 1967. Terry was
united in marriage to Linda Kosht on June 17, 1977; they spent forty-three loving years devoted
to each other as husband and wife. Terry worked twenty-five years, as a Road Maintenance
Supervisor, for the City of Lansing, retiring in 1992.
Terry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with family. When his children were younger he
supported them in their various activities and volunteered as a Cub Scout leader. He cherished
the time they spent celebrating birthdays, attending sporting events, and taking family vacations.
Every summer, Terry enjoyed camping with his family at numerous State parks all over
Michigan and across the Country. He traveled with his family along the East Coast, from Maine
to the Outer Banks, North Carolina. He eventually graduated to bed and breakfasts, alongside
state parks, where he was able to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Most recently
winters were spent traveling about the warmer states including numerous locations in Florida;
like St. Augustine, Ft. Meyers, Cocoa Beach, and Destin, as well as Texas and New Orleans,
Louisiana.
Terry’s interests included restoring his 1949 Oldsmobile, which for many years he would take to
car shows, and spontaneous car meets, to get together with other car owners. Terry also enjoyed
being a DIY’er, and being a jack of all trades, passing along life skills to his children.
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be dearly missed by all
who loved him. Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Stevens; his children, Donavon
(fiancée Marilyn Nalepa) Robbins, Jodi Robbins Costa, Travis (Kristen) Stevens, and Aaron
(Aimee) Stevens; his brothers Roger Kowalski and Jeffrey Stevens; and his grandchildren,
Sierra, Brendan, Sophia, Aidan, Liam, Gavin, Adilee, Sylvie, and Ty. He was preceded in death
by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. During this difficult time, please make sure to
reach out to the family by leaving your thoughts online, with a card or a phone call.
