Stuart W. Snyder, age 65, of Redford, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024. He was born on December 5, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Stuart and Barbara (Brown) Snyder. Stuart grew up in Livonia and graduated from Stevenson High School in the class of 1976. A few years later, he moved to Redford, where he settled down and made it his permanent home.
Stuart was a remarkably talented tradesman with a wide array of skills. Over his lifetime, he held various positions in the automotive industry, including glass glazier and wholesale car dealer. He was a hardworking individual who always ensured his family was taken care of. When his workday was done, he enjoyed tinkering on engines while sipping a cold beer.
Stuart had a sweet and spicy personality. He believed in tough love, but his love was unconditional. Stuart adored his grandchildren and cared for them deeply. He was an animal lover, and over the years his dogs always brought a smile to his face. His current dog, Moe, gave him tremendous joy.
Stuart enjoyed a rustic lifestyle, often keeping to himself but always observant of his surroundings. He was an excellent grill master and cook, with his homemade mac and cheese and bean soup being family favorites. He also perfected the art of smoking meat. An avid outdoorsman, Stuart loved fishing and hunting. He was a passionate sports fan, always watching football, baseball, and hockey, and never missing a Tigers game. Stuart was a helpful neighbor, a loyal friend, and a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Stuart is survived by his sons, Stuart (Erin) Snyder and Jeremy Snyder; his grandchildren, Chelsea Snyder, Xavier Snyder, and Leo Lawton; his sisters, Marsha (the late Michael Swartz) Snyder, Gayle (the late Jim) Ambrose, Tina (the late Sandy) Volonino, and Jill Snyder; his sister-in-law Debby Snyder; his nieces, Jenni (Adam) Renshaw, Angela (Mark) Maurin, and Alyssa (Zach) McClow; his nephew Jason (Carrie) Leach; and his great nephews Wyatt and Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Snyder, and his granddaughter Kalistta.
