Sharon A. Bollin

June 4, 1946 — March 8, 2025

Sharon A. Bollin, age 78, of Farmington Hills, passed away on March 8, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Andrewlitis) Raff. She graduated from Melvindale High School; class of 1964. Sharon was united in marriage to William D. Bollin on October 30, 1971; they devoted over 53 years to one another.

After graduating from high school, Sharon began her career as an administrative assistant for Donald Miller. She later transitioned into the retail industry, becoming the manager at Rags to Riches in Farmington. After the store closed, she went on to manage the UPS Store in Farmington. She retired in 2013 to embrace her most important role — caring for her grandkids.

Sharon was a supportive and devoted wife. She dedicated many hours of her life helping her husband who owned Bollin Electric Company. She also helped organized several Fraternal Order of Police events while he was with the Police Departments. She was a member of the Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club. An animal lover at heart, Sharon volunteered countless hours with Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit — and she never met a dog she didn’t want to take home.

Sharon loved to shop and had a knack for looking good and appreciating nice things. She enjoyed bowling and was part of a longstanding league with many friends. Her creative side shone through in the art classes she took with friends, where she displayed a talent for decoupage. Sharon was an incredible self-taught cook, best known for her outstanding homemade soups.

A passionate hockey fan, she and her husband were longtime season ticket holders for the Detroit Red Wings. She especially loved watching her grandson and granddaughter play hockey, cherishing every moment — including the thrill of seeing them score their first goals. From the moment her grandchildren were born, Sharon was a devoted and loving grandmother, cherishing every moment she spent with them. Her unconditional love was truly remarkable, and she will be deeply missed.

Sharon is survived by her husband Bill; her son, Rob (Shannon) Bollin; her grandchildren, Lana Bollin and Braeden Bollin; and her siblings-in-law, Ken (Barb) Bollin, Per (Elisabeth) Sandberg, Janette Guenther, and Tim (Ann) Bollin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Leah Marie Bollin, her sister-in-law Sherrill Rigley, and her brother-in-law Chris Bollin.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
