Serge Artamonoff, age 86, longtime resident of Northville, passed away February 19, 2021. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Riga, Russia; son of Ivan and Claudia Anikin. Serge was united in marriage to Pauline Misin on February 3, 1957; they spent 63 years devoted to one another until her death on March 4, 2020.
Serge emigrated to the United States in 1951 and settled in New Jersey with his parents. He was employed at Diamond Systems in New Jersey from 1953 until he was transferred to the head office in Farmington in 1976. He served in the engineering department and was awarded 3 patents in his career before retiring in 2001.
Serge was a talented woodworker and built beautiful custom furniture and cabinetry. He took great pride in caring for his home and kept a meticulously manicured yard. Serge had a green thumb that he used to grow flowers and a large vegetable garden. He enjoyed being on the water, fishing, boating, and water-skiing. Serge was a fantastic host and liked to entertain family and friends. He had an exquisite palate and preferred his wife’s delicious cooking or occasionally dining at a fine restaurant, both of which were always followed by a good dessert and coffee. Serge loved his dogs; the Samoyeds he bred and had a litter of puppies with, his two toy poodles, and most recently his silky terrier, Misha. Although Serge was a man of a few words, he was quick witted, very kindhearted, and a great friend. He loved his wife immensely, was a wonderful father, and adored his grandchildren. Serge cherished every moment he spent with his family.
Serge is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa Jeziorski and Tatiana (Vincent) Vuichard; his sister, Eugenia Rodin; his grandchildren, Jason Jeziorski, Vinny (Stephanie) Vuichard, and Alexandria Vuichard; his great granddaughter, Olivia Vuichard; his nieces, Barbara, Natalie, Olga, and Vera; and his nephew, Nick. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pauline Artamonoff and his parents.
