Ronald James Holmes, age 44, second oldest son to Richard Curtis Holmes and Benita Yvette (Olds) Holmes, (both preceded his death) was born in Lincoln Park, MI on August 16, 1978. Ron grew up in Northville and graduated from Northville High School, class of 1996. He raised his family in Detroit and moved to Ann Arbor 5 years ago.

Ron started a career in the food industry as a cook and was promoted to a Corporate Trainer for Max and Erma’s. For the past 3 years Ron has worked as a Production Operator with Chrysler and was a Member of the UAW Local 12 in Toledo.

At the age of fourteen Ron met Angelita Rivera, Angelita became Mrs. Holmes 8 years later, from their union four children were born, Ronald Holmes Jr., Jada Holmes, Natalia Holmes, and Micah Holmes.

On November 18, 2022 Ronald made his transition.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Angelita Holmes, Ron Holmes Jr, Jada Holmes, Natalia Holmes, and Micah Holmes; 9 brothers, Richard Curtis (Robyn) Holmes, Reginald Holmes, Arturo (Megan)Rivera, Jose’ Cruz, DeVaughn Little, Chris Whittington, Tonka Blackman, Lenard Hutchin, and Damon (Danielle) Cole; 1 Sister, Amika Thornton; 5 Nieces, Madison, Markiya, Chassidy, Amelia, and Armani; 4 nephews, Noah, Luca, Cameron, and Issac; 1 uncle, Ricky James Holmes and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ron will forever be remembered for being an extremely dedicated father, he only wanted the best for his children and wanted them to follow their dreams.  Ron was a hard worker with a laugh that was one of a kind and a smile that could light up any dark room. He would swallow you with his amazing tight hugs. Ron loved gangsta movies, listening to rap music, re-watching The Sopranos to the point he could recite all the lines. He collected swords, knives and two-dollar bills. Ron liked to eat and had a tremendous sweet tooth; indulging in his favorites, like Ben and Jerry's ice cream, cookies, Mountain Dew and Snickers. He loved being comfortable, while looking fly, and had impeccable hygiene. Ron always looked and smelled good. Ron was proud of his culture and embraced his children’s mom’s culture and taught his children to do the same. Finding a few words to describe Ron was hard; he was confident, genuine, blunt, happy, strong, resilient, forgiving, silly, caring, and loving. He will be deeply missed by all who laughed with him, loved him, and were lucky enough to know him.
