Ronald G. Handloser

Ronald G. Handloser, age 85, of Plymouth, formerly a longtime resident of Livonia, passed away November 5, 2018.   He was born May 27, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Gordon and Eleanor (nee Heide) Handloser.  Ronald was united in marriage to Joan Phillips on March 11, 1961; they spent 50 loving years together as husband and wife until her death in 2011.

Ronald began his career working at the missile plant in Warren, MI and had worked on the Saturn V rocket.  From there he worked on computers at Burroughs Corporation and then began his career in finance as a stock broker in 1968.  He worked for several brokerage firms before starting his own firm, retiring in 2012.  He was an avid boater and enjoyed the days he spent on the Great Lakes.   Ronald was a builder who built two homes, including his own and was not afraid to take on any home improvement projects.  He was very mechanically inclined and liked to tinker and fix things.  A true Patriot, he enjoyed talking politics often over a good cup of coffee. He also enjoyed classical music, especially Beethoven.  Ronald cherished the time he spent with family and friends and adored his grandchildren.  The last year of his life was spent working for the Lord, a fact he was proud to share.

Ronald is survived by his loving children, Rhonda (Chris) Weber, Greg (Marilou) Handloser, Marilyn (Carl) Engstrom, and Kathy (Charlie) Pilon; his grandchildren, Ashley, Christa, Garret, Mason, Morgan, and Alana.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Handloser and his parents.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., in state beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 47650 N. Territorial, Plymouth.  Ronald will be laid to rest next to his wife at Rural Hill Cemetery.
