Robert L. Paulen

Age 62, of Northville, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on January 18, 2022. He was born on October 25, 1959 in Royal Oak, Michigan; son of John and Priscilla (nee Williard) Paulen. He graduated from Garden City East High School, class of 1977.  In 1990, Bob graduated from Illinois School of Optometry where he was an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity.

Dr. Bob began his career as an optometrist in 1991 in Ann Arbor. He worked in many different cities before beginning his own practice in 1998 in Novi and moved to downtown Northville, Robert Paulen and Associates in 2006. Dr. Bob was a hard worker and dedicated his life to helping others keep their eyes healthy.

Dr. Bob was witty and had a great sense of humor. He loved fishing and enjoyed hunting. He was a proud member of the NRA. On Saturday nights Dr. Bob and his family enjoyed watching the Three Stooges followed by a slapstick comedy movie. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving mother Priscilla Paulen Frederick and his brother Rick (Claudia Gillenwater) Paulen. He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 3pm until 5pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 5pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.  Pastor James N. McGuire with Christ Presbyterian Church will officiate the service. Following the service, a memorial dinner will be held at Genittis Restaurant in downtown Northville. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Humane Society of Huron Valley , 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
