Robert W. Jankowski

Age 86, a longtime resident of Livonia, passed away September 10, 2022. He was born on July 1, 1936 in Hamtramck, Michigan; son of Walter and Stella (Panek) Jankowski. Robert graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960.  Robert was united in marriage to Patricia A. Tomaszycki on October 17, 1964; lovingly devoted to each other for over 57 years.

Robert worked as a material manager for Charles A. Strand, a heating and cooling company for over 24 years. He enjoyed golfing and travelling. Spending 3 weeks in Hawaii, island jumping, was his most memorable and favorite trip. Watching University of Michigan football was another favorite pastime. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. Robert liked to keep on top of the changing weather and enjoyed reading National Geographic magazine. He was an attentive husband, supportive father, caring grandfather, brother, and friend.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia; his daughters, Kim (Russ) Semon and Sheila (Pat) Monahan; his sister Jeanette Winsten; his grandsons, Jeremy Semon, Steven Semon, and Nathan Monahan; and his nephews and niece, Kenneth, Michael, Dan, and Diane. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Fisher House Foundation , 12300 Twinbrook Pkwy, Suite 410, Rockville, MD 20852.
