Robert D. Allerton, 88, passed away on October 10, 2021 in Sarasota, Florida. Bob was born on June 16, 1933 as the only child to the late Frank and Madelyn Allerton in Detroit, Michigan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Karen. Bob is also survived by: his three children, Frank (Patricia), Stacey (Marc) and Robert Jr.; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Stacy), Lindsay (Sean), Cole, Chandler, Nicklaus, Madelyn, and Cameron; and three great-grandchildren, Brigitte, Charlotte, and James.
Bob was a loyal employee of Mobil Oil for 35 years where he worked in Sales and Marketing. He grew up in Dearborn and made his family home in Livonia, Michigan for over 50 years. He loved all sports, particularly baseball. He was invited to try out for the Detroit Tigers and was most proud of the no hitter he pitched for his Dearborn High School team. He attended Henry Ford Junior College and Hillsdale College where he played varsity baseball. Bob was a passionate softball player and a ‘legendary’ Livonia Minor League Hockey coach in the 1970’s. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., instate at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Priscilla Catholic Church, 19120 Purlingbrook St., Livonia. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
