Ricki L. Baggett

Ricki (Rick) L. Baggett, age 72, lifelong resident of Salem, passed away May 15, 2024. He was born March 26, 1952 in Northville, Michigan; son of Oliver and Helen (Petroit) Baggett. Rick attended South Lyon High School; class of 1971.

Rick was a gravel truck driver for over 50 years, 20 of which were spent driving for Jackie’s Transport in Northville. He was also highly sought after for his exceptional pinstriping and lettering skills.  Rick used his talent to add artwork to semi-trucks, cars, bikes, wagons and many personal items.

Rick had a passion for collecting and restoring antique farm tractors, toy trucks and creating many unique gifts like bird houses, flower planters, and butt cans. He enjoyed garage saleing, auctions and antiquing to add to his many collections including lanterns, toy tractors, and vintage Tonka trucks. Rick would often head to the local car wash to make sure his pick-up was always perfectly clean, whether it needed it or not. He liked to garden and made sure his lawn was always well maintained. He adored his dog, Penny, a miniature pinscher who never left his side. Rick was a wonderful dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend, he will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.

Rick is survived by his loving children, Rodney (Sheila) Baggett, Robbie Baggett, and Ricki Toth; his grandchildren, Jake Farmer, Megan (Kyle) Donahee, and Rachael Toth; his great grandchildren, Lewis, Dannie, and Tilly; his siblings, Verne Baggett, Linda (Tom) Ross, Steve Baggett, his twin sister Rita Baggett, Barbara (Ron) Fowkes, Ollie (Kim) Baggett, and Sara Perdue; many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
