Rachel J. Puttock

Rachel J. Puttock, age 79 of Northville, formerly a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on April 25, 2024.  She was born on February 16, 1945 in Richardton, North Dakota daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Fix) Wanner.

Rachel was the oldest of nine siblings and spent her formative years working on the family farm, where she would often recount stories of early mornings milking the cows before heading off to school.  At eighteen, Rachel left home for nursing school and, on graduating, enlisted in the Air Force and served as a clinical nurse where she was stationed in both the United States and abroad before being honorably discharged as a Captain.  After her military service, Rachel devoted herself to caring for her family and raising her boys.  When they were older, she went back to work as a registered nurse and eventually retired from University Medical Center in Las Vegas after 30 years of service.

Rachel was very artistic and enjoyed crafts of all types.  She dabbled in ceramics, jewelry making, painting, scrapbooking, sewing, and quilting.  One of her most treasured creations was a cake topper for her son and daughters-in-law wedding. Her best friend, Betty, was often at her side working on craft projects or attending Red Hat Society meetings.  Rachel was a wonderful cook and always made sure her family had a delicious meal.  She loved to dance and was never shy about being the first on the dance floor.  Rachel adored her dog Hunter and cherished having him as a faithful companion.  She was always the brightest light in the room and loved to laugh.

Rachel is survived by her loving sons, Justin (Manda) Puttock and Rodney Puttock; her grandchildren, Ryan and Evelyn; her siblings, Loretta Taylor, Cletus Wanner, Theresa Donner, Joseph Wanner, Joyce Wanner, and Beth Wanner; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Amber; her parents, her brother, Dave Wanner; and her sister, Helen Jacobson.

Private family services will be held.
