Pauline Frances (Graham) Tait
June 14, 1926 - April 10, 2023
It is with heavy yet loving hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline Frances Tait on April 10, 2023. She was born on June 14, 1926 in Clawson, Michigan to Oscar and Norma (Andrus) Graham. She moved to Novi as a child, and graduated from Northville High School (class of 1944), making Northville and Lyon Township her home as an adult. She started working at Depositors State Bank in Northville after high school graduation. Her roles within the bank increased as the bank changed from Depositors State Bank to Manufacturers Bank and finally Comerica Bank. She retired as the Assistant Manager of the Northville Branch on June 10, 1981.
On January 26, 1980, she married the widower Warren R. Tait and immediately became a mother to Nancy (Jesse) and Donna (Norm) as well as a grandmother to Kevin, Jesse, Jeff, Brian, Caroline, Tony, Rebekah, and Rick. She remained devoted to Warren for over 29 years until his death in 2009.
Pauline was a devout and active Christian since she was a young girl. At Salem Bible Church she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and led the Pioneer Girls. She and Warren later were members of First Baptist Church of Wixom, whereas newlyweds they volunteered to lead and organize the Keenagers to serve the senior members of the church. Most recently, she has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Northville since 1988. She opened her heart and her home to many missionaries over the years, and was known for her unconditional faith and love.
Pauline was an avid reader, with the Bible at the top of her reading list. Pauline loved to travel; her most memorable trip was going to Jerusalem. Pauline liked playing all sorts of board games and card games. She was an enthusiastic and dedicated Detroit Tigers fan who rarely missed a game. Pauline loved gardening, especially tending a large plot together with husband Warren. She carried on the family tradition of canning fruits and vegetables. She was a meticulous dresser and kept up with the latest fashion trends. Pauline was gracious and kind, fun and joyful, and always shined brightly with her beautiful smile. She is now rejoicing with the saints at the feet of her Savior in Heaven. She was an incredible lady who was loved and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Jesse) Grimm and Donna (Norm) Gates; her brother Larry (Berva) Graham; her grandchildren, Dr. Kevin Grimm, Dr. Jesse Grimm, Jeff Gates, Brian Gates, Caroline Londot, Tony Gates, Dr. Rebekah Rajlich, and Rick Gates; 28 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
