Paul Lamoureux, age 60, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away May 27, 2023. He was born on April 6, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan; son of AJ and Allie (Nurmi) Lamoureux. Paul graduated from Detroit Country Day; class of 1981. He continued his education at the University of Michigan where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. Paul was united in marriage to Susan Low on December 27, 1985; they spent 37 years lovingly devoted to one another.
A true entrepreneur, Paul had a successful career in the auto industry for many years. He was the owner/auctioneer of Auto City Auto Recovery, an auto auction in Detroit. While he sold the business in 2000, Paul continued to work with the company as well as local auto dealers buying and selling cars. He was also always willing to help friends and family find the perfect car of their own.
Paul volunteered with Hockey has Heart; hosting annual auctions to help Michigan hockey families that are facing life altering challenges. He was an active member of the Northville Moose Lodge 1190, he served on the board and helped with many building and remodeling projects. Paul’s generosity went above and beyond the financial aspect, he was incredibly giving of his time and always willing to lend a helping hand. His commitment to giving extended to his family as well.
One of Paul’s favorite hobbies was motorcycles, whether fixing them up and selling them or supporting his son’s racing by making sure everything was mechanically sound. He volunteered as a soccer and hockey coach for his children’s teams. Paul was very conscientious of his health and enjoyed running, swimming, and cycling. He also enjoyed summer days spent with family in Keweenaw riding 4 wheelers, boating, or relaxing by the bonfire with a beer. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be missed by all who loved him.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Susan Lamoureux; his children, Drew Lamoureux and Heather Lamoureux; his sister, Theresa (Michael) Thompson; his niece, Jade Thompson; and his father-in-law, Don Low. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Janet Low.
