Patricia A. Shipp
Age 93, of Lake Orion, formerly of Detroit, Livonia, and Las Vegas, NV, passed away on October 19, 2019. She was born on December 31, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter Frank and Anna (nee Purol) Misiak. She graduated from McKenzie High School in Detroit; Class of 1943. Patricia was united in marriage to Stanley Shipp on July 14, 1945; they spent 66 loving years devoted to one another until his death on October 2, 2011.
Patricia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. Her life was faith filled; she prayed first thing every morning and prayed the rosary every night. She was an avid reader and enjoyed polka dancing. She and her husband would attend Polish festivals in the area and Linda Lee shows in Frankenmuth where they would polka dance. Patricia was a wonderful baker and made delicious cookies of all kinds. Staying connected with family was important to her, she would often write letters to keep in touch. Patricia was a dedicated homemaker. Her children always came first, she was the best and took wonderful care of her family. A beautiful, gentle spirit, she showed those around her extreme kindness. Patricia knew how to live simply. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Frank (Lynne) Shipp, Pam (Ron) Collins, Stan (Linda) Shipp, Susan (John) Wise, Charlie (Chris) Shipp, Tom (Denise) Shipp, and Mary-Jo (Scott) Teifer; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Carl Misiak and Judy Leslie. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Peter Misiak, her brother Frank Misiak, her brother Conrad Misiak, and her sister Monica Wyroba.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 21, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., in state 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W. 10 Mile Rd., Novi. Mrs. Shipp will be laid to rest next to her husband at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
