Patricia S. Johnson

April 13, 1958 — December 1, 2021

Patricia “Patsy”  S. Johnson

Age 63, of Northville, passed away on December 1, 2021. She was born on April 13, 1958 in Oakland, California; daughter of Raymond and Yvonne (neé Hebal) Stephens. She graduated in 1976 from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa, where she grew up. Following high school, she attended Iowa State for a year before transferring to Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Clothing and Textiles. She continued her education and graduated in 1982 with a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law. Patsy worked for various law firms throughout, her career, most notably Kolb, Clare and Arnold Law Firm. She ran the Michigan office, but served in many other states including Georgia, Pennsylvania, California, and New Jersey.

Patsy was united in marriage to Christopher J. Johnson on January 2, 1982; spending over 39 years devoted to their marriage. Patsy was a dedicated member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at both Iowa State and MSU. She was a supportive alumnus of both schools and served as a state 4-H officer in Iowa. She was a committed volunteer for many Northville causes and organizations. She was a member of the Northville Mother’s Club and served in a variety of roles in the PTA. She shared her exceptional talent in sewing, knitting and weaving by providing gifts to family and friends. Her children and countless nieces and nephews received afghans as wedding gifts and baby blankets for each newborn that joined the family. Her skills can be attributed to her mother, who taught her how to knit and passed down her loom to her eldest daughter. She was the oldest of four sisters who always looked up to her. Patsy participated in a knitting group in Northville with many dear friends and her sister. An accomplished seamstress, she made everything from her children’s costumes to her husband’s three-piece suits. An adventurous cook and baker, Patsy was always willing to try something new. She loved animals and especially adored her dog Coco. She also loved to travel, exploring the U.S., Europe and other destinations.

Patsy was good at everything; she did it all and did it well. She relished her role as a mother and when it came to her family she was committed, driven, and loving. Patsy strived to make things special for those around her which was evident in everything she did. The Johnson home in Northville and their cottage on Grand Traverse Bay was a gathering spot for their large extended family and friends.

Patsy is survived by her husband Chris; her children, Karlek (Emily) Johnson and Tollie (Aleksandar) Marcius; her grandson Cameron Johnson; her mother Yvonne R. Stephens; and her sisters, Christine (Norm) Fankell, Michelle (Paul) Kobrin, and Pamela (Gregg) Gumkowski. She is also loved by her extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Stephens.
