Patricia J. Borg

Patricia J. Borg, age 81, longtime resident of West Bloomfield, passed away on November 25, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (Zeman) Korzen. Patricia graduated from Roosevelt University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Patricia continued her education at the University of Michigan where she earned a master’s degree in Education.

Patricia worked as a teacher for Dearborn Heights Public Schools for over 30 years. She taught everything from first grade to high school, her favorite being elementary age. A wonderful teacher, she was very involved in her students’ lives and kept in touch with them over the years. Well-liked by her colleagues, they got together often following retirement for dinner or a round of golf. Patricia retired from Polk Elementary teaching the fifth grade in 2009.

Patricia was a member of St. Fabian Catholic Church in Farmington where she attended mass regularly. She was an avid golfer and played as often as she could. A U of M football fan, Patricia was a season ticket holder for over 20 years and enjoyed tailgating during the home games. Patricia was always impeccably dressed and well-kept with her hair and nails done perfectly. She loved to shop, especially at Nordstrom, and was always tastefully flashy with a little bit of southwest flair.

Patricia cared deeply for friends who were family, the Wanglers, with whom she spent holidays with, was an “Aunt Pat” to their grandchildren, and along with Theresa prepared the tailgate for football Saturdays. Patricia was a loving mother and was extremely proud of her son’s service in the United States Air Force. Her beautiful smile will be missed by all who loved her.

Patrica is survived by her beloved son, David (Diane) Borg; and her brother Richard (Janet) Korzen; nieces Elizabeth and Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 5:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.  A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., instate at 10:30 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 West 12 Mile Road, Farmington.  She will be laid to rest at Roseland Park Cemetery.
