Pamela A. Waggener

Age 66, a longtime resident of Livonia, passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2022 from a very aggressive cancer. She was born on December 7, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Aldo and Jean (Hlavaty) Bonamici . Pam is survived by her daughters, Julie (Michael) Scott and Jessica Waggener; her brother Gregg (Missy) Bonamici , DDS; her grandchildren, Annabelle, Landon, and Jack; her father-in-law Russell Waggener; and her sister-in-law Jane (Scott) Eeley. She is also loved and will be missed by her dear friend Joy Bonamici , 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Pam graduated from Dearborn High School, class of 1974. She continued her education at Ferris State University where she earned an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. Pam was united in marriage to Kurt R. Waggener on September 30, 1978; spending over 43 years devoted to their love until his death on July 22, 2022.

After graduation Pam began a 46-year career as a Dental Hygienist.  She most recently worked for Gregg S. Bonamici in Dearborn helping others maintain beautiful smiles.

Pam adored spending time with her family. She was an adventurous grandma always taking her grandchildren on special day trips. Her beautiful fairy garden at home was created with love every spring and her grandchildren anticipated the gifts in the mailbox from the fairy. Pam was a loving, thoughtful, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Pam was a proud Girl Scout Leader for Troop 1229 for 9 years. She was a member of Questers, dedicating time to preserve and restore memorial, historic buildings, and landmarks. She loved international travel; some of her favorite places were Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Finland, Iceland, and Cuba. Pam also enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Archer Lake in Quincy. Many happy memories were made at the cottage boating, taking photos, relaxing, and being with her family.

Pam was a talented crafter, making many handmade cards and heartfelt scrapbooks. She was an active cyclist who enjoyed taking long routes which included cycling to work.

Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 from Noon until 6pm and Monday, August 29, 2022 from 10am until 11am with a Memorial Service beginning at 11am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
