Nancy D. Marks, age 74, of Milford, formerly of Roscommon and New Hudson, passed away peacefully November 4, 2019. She was born on August 8, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Elwood and Marion (nee Leavens) Koons. She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School; Class of 1963. Nancy was united in marriage to James Marks on April 12, 1986; they spent 32 years devoted to one another until his death on December 5, 2018.
Nancy worked as an EMS Coordinator for U of M Survival Flight setting up the dispatch center. She volunteered as a paramedic with South Lyon Ambulance for 18 years. She also worked at McDonald Ford in Northville as the office manager for 10 years and as a teller at North Central Area Credit Union in Roscommon for a few years.
Nancy was an avid reader, she especially liked series of books about the Amish. She was very creative and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and doing adult coloring books. Nancy also enjoyed going to craft shows, antique shows, and estate sales. She liked to play bingo, go to the casino, and do scratch offs; she was super lucky and won often. She loved Dairy Queen; her order was always a cone upside down in a cup that her family would rush home to get to her. Nancy’s true joy in life was her family, she cherished the time she spent with each of them.
Nancy is survived by her loving children, Julie (Mark) Smith, Katrina (Gordon) Akers, Deanna (Rick) Perfetto, and Robert Marks; her daughter-in-law, Maggie Andrews; her grandchildren, Anna Smith, Lucas Smith, Carrie Cottingham, April Chatfield, Gerald Raymor III, Caitlyn Jo Akers, Bethany Akers, Dante Perfetto, Miranda Andrews, Breenen Marks, Aubryonna Marks, and Robert James Marks, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Cara, Caden, and Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Brian Andrews, and her parents.
The visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Mrs. Marks will be laid to rest next to her husband at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
