Nancy L. Gazley
Age 89, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on February 5, 2023. She was born on April 23, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter of Charles and Lennie (Beemer) Williams. After attending Northville High School, Nancy began a career as an accounting clerk with the State of Michigan Department of Mental Health. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Gazley on June 4, 1955; devoted to each other for over 51 years until his death in 2006.
Nancy was a proud patriot. She was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4012. Nancy supported the military in any way she could; she often sent her famous banana bread to troops stationed with her nephew. She was a wonderful cook and baker; her family will try to recreate her delicious stuffed peppers. Nancy was a huge sports fan and loved watching golf, tennis, football, basketball, baseball, and curling on television. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, hunting, and fishing. She loved the beauty of horses and the creativity of crocheting and knitting. Dancing the country two step with the ladies at Riverwind always put a smile on her face. Fancy Nancy, as the staff lovingly called her became more than just caretakers, they were devoted friends. Nancy’s family is truly grateful for the kindness and care they provided. Nancy was a witty, kind, and adventurous wife, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her great nieces and nephews, Pete (Penny) Gross IV, Garry (Danette) Gross, Jim Gross, Mindy Gross, MaryBeth (Jim) Maxwell, Chaz (Michelle) Gross and Ken Gross; 13 great-great nieces and nephews; and 18 great-great-great nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Jack Williams, her sister Martha Gross, her nephew Charles Gross, her nephew Peter Gross III, and her great nephew Tom Gross.
