Myrna J. Joumas, age 88, of Farmington Hills, formerly a longtime resident of Clawson, passed away on January 12, 2022. She was born in Dougherty, Iowa; daughter of Theodore and Lela (nee Dugan) Esser. She graduated from Rockwell High School, which was a one room schoolhouse, in 1951. Myrna was united in marriage to James J. Joumas on May 16, 1953; they spent 46 loving years devoted to one another until his death on January 3, 2000.
Myrna was dedicated to caring for her family and cherished the time she spent with them. A homemaker, she also worked at K Mart in Troy for over 20 years holding various positions. Myrna was a wonderful cook; each meal was prepared from scratch with love. She enjoyed playing bingo. Myrna was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Jim (Ana) Joumas, Carol (Ron) Malkowski, and Chris Joumas; her grandsons, Brian Malkowski and Brandon Malkowski; and her brother Alan (Melanie) Esser. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Joann Davis, and her brother Marvin Esser.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Cathy, Daaree, and the entire staff at Extended Care Assisted Living in Farmington Hills for the exceptional compassionate care they provided for Myrna for the past 6 ½ years.
Private family services will be held.
