Minda L. Commire

August 20, 1964 — July 25, 2022

Minda L. Commire

Age 57, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2022. She was born on August 20, 1964 in Shelbyville, Indiana; daughter of Lawrence and Jacqueline (Campbell) Towne. Minda graduated from Northville High School in 1982. She began a career as an EMT and excelled in her field. Minda was honored with several awards, completed many certifications, and served as the Captain of the Hazmat team. She was working at St. Mary Mercy Hospital as an Emergency Room Technician for over 29 years.

Minda, who had a very generous heart, loved her job because she knew she was helping others. She volunteered countless hours with the Northville Civic Concern. Minda also traveled to Guatemala, Haiti, and Panama on mission trips to help those less fortunate. She used her knitting skills to make baby blankets for new mothers she helped during those trips. Showing compassion and kindness to others was one of her many positive attributes.

Growing up on a farm in Indiana gave her a deep appreciation and love of horses. She enjoyed caring for and riding horses. Minda was an avid reader and loved working in her garden. She recently received the Highland Lakes Condo Association Award for her beautiful patio and garden. Recently she purchased a vintage camper and was able to enjoy a few camping trips to Bruin Lake State Park with her sons. Minda was eagerly awaiting to welcome her first grandchild into the family; she already had so much love for her granddaughter. She was a loving, dedicated, and caring mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend; she will be deeply missed.

Minda is survived by her sons; Matthew (Ann Marie Emsley) Commire, Andrew (Heather Conlin) Commire, Joseph (Jeremy Culver) Commire, and Stephen B. Commire; her sister Terri Towne Toner; and her furry companion Jax. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bruce Towne, Mark Towne, and John Towne.
