Michael J. Wierzbicki, age 58, of Novi, passed away December 24, 2020. He was born on February 12, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois; son of Bernard and Barbara (nee Frank) Wierzbicki. Mike was united in marriage to Deena W. Woodrow on July 7, 1990; they celebrated 30 wonderful years of marriage this past July.
He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to California to escape the winters and grow his career. Mike lived in Valencia, California before moving to Novi where he has lived since 2001. After working more than 25 years in the real estate and property management industry, Mike made the decision to change careers. In 2014 he began Mr. Handyman of Northville, Canton, and Plymouth; he enjoyed serving the community for all its home improvement needs. Mike was an incredible boss and absolutely loved his career choice.
Most important to Mike was being with his family. He was fiercely proud of his children, always posting their every accomplishment on Facebook (despite their embarrassment. He loved doting on his beagle Artemis and driving around listening to music from the 70’s. Mike was a wonderful cook and grill master; after many efforts he finally perfected smoking a brisket in his smoker. He was a total Fox News junkie and enjoyed watching football and was a big Chicago Bears fan. Mike was goofy, he would often tell a silly joke that most would roll their eyes at, but he would start cracking up and his laughter made those around him laugh. He was a hardworking, considerate, supportive and most of all loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife Deena, his children, Alyssa Wierzbicki and Kyle Wierzbicki; his brother Bob (Sandra) Wierzbicki; his in-laws, Michael and Linda Woodrow; and his brother-in-law Allan (Lauren) Woodrow. He is also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom Wierzbicki.
