Michael J. Berthiaume
Age 39, of Livonia, passed away suddenly on February 14, 2022. He was born on May 21, 1982 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Lawrence G. and Eve C. (Stearn) Berthiaume. Michael graduated from Harrison High School; class of 1999. After graduation he joined the United State Marine Corps; he proudly served for 3 years.
Michael attended Wayne State University where he received a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees. He was brilliant. Michael taught at Wayne State University for 10 years. He was working as a Hybrid Control Module Engineer at Stellantis (formerly Chrysler).
Michael was the life of the party; he was funny and a little goofy and enjoyed making people laugh. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing; charter salmon fishing was something he experienced as often as possible with his friends and his son. Family was important to him; he shared so much unconditional love with his mom, his siblings, and his son. Michael’s connection with his sister began when he was born, she cared for him like a second mom; they had an amazing relationship. He had a big heart, his bond with his nephews and nieces was exceptional from their birth through adulthood. Michael was a devoted son, an incredible dad, a loving brother, and a cherished uncle. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is survived by his son Austin Carson; his mother Eve Berthiaume; his siblings, Jason (Christina) Berthiaume, Randy (Susan) Fisher, and Kim (Douglas) Krest; his nieces and nephews, Alexander, Isabella, Anna, Madeline, Nicholas (Meghan), and Tyler (Allie); his great niece Mia; and his life partner in crime Jenny Carson. He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10am until Noon with a service beginning at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Pastor James N. McGuire with Christ Presbyterian Church will officiate the service.
