Mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.

Meghan was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma this past June and fought until the very end to stay with us. She was taken from us too soon, early Monday morning, February 5th, 2024.

Meghan was smart, kind, brave and had the ability to use her wicked sense of humor, sass, and contagious laughter to help herself and anyone around her get through the rough patches in life. She is already sorely missed for her bright smile, a carefully-timed joke, a warm hug or a well-thought-out piece of advice. Meghan always knew how to make the people around her feel valued, feel cared for, and feel seen. Meghan worked at nonprofits her entire career, most recently at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Meghan wanted to help others and she had a special gift to instantly make people feel at ease. It has been amazing to hear from coworkers, friends and family about different stories of the impact Meghan made on their lives and how they were better people because of her.

The world was a much brighter place with Meghan in it and will never feel the same without us being able to share it with her. It is a tremendous loss to her family; Barry, Ian, Janet, Gerry, Jenny, and Jack. But most of all, the life she was afraid to leave was being a mother to her pride and joy Barry Burke O’Hara (2). In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the 529 college fund that has been set up for Barry. All Meghan wanted in the end, was to know Barry would live a big life, which she had hoped to be a part of.
