Matthew E. Shaw

Matthew E. Shaw, age 24, lifelong resident of Northville, passed away February 24, 2020. He was born December 26, 1995 in Royal Oak, Michigan; son of Edward and Linda (Borchanian) Shaw. Matthew graduated from Northville High School; Class of 2014.

Matthew was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, where he attended school through the eighth grade. Most of Matthew’s life was about nutrition and fitness.  He worked as a personal trainer and enjoyed helping people achieve their health and fitness goals.  He liked body building and cooking delicious healthy meals.

Matthew was an avid sports fan, rooting for University of Michigan football and basketball teams.  He enjoyed playing basketball, golf, and was on the football team while at Northville High School.  He liked spending time up north boating and had recently taken up camping.  Matthew had a big heart and was kind to everyone.  He made friends easily and was an inspiration to those around him.  Charismatic and high energy, he was very fun loving.  Matthew truly loved his family. He was a great son, a wonderful brother, and a terrific grandson, nephew, and cousin.

Matthew is survived by his loving parents Edward and Linda Shaw; his sisters, Claudia and Abby Shaw; his grandmother, Joan Borchanian; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents John Borchanian, Michael and Michalina Szczotka.

A Funeral Mass will be held ‪Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.‬ with a time of gathering ‪beginning at 9:30 a.m.‬ at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville.
