Martin L. Gallo

Age 81, of Northville, passed away on March 21, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1940; son of Martin and Marion (Kondur) Gallo. Martin was united in marriage to Sandra on June 16, 1962; devoted to loving each other for over 59 years.

Following college, Marty began a 36-year career at Redford Union Schools. He started teaching at the Elementary level, moved to Middle School, and finally ended his career at High School. Marty was an exceptional teacher and a wonderful school counselor. He was well-respected by his peers and left an impression on many students throughout his time at Redford Union.

Marty was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with his friends, son-in-law and grandsons on the local courses. He also loved playing cards, especially poker. Marty loved his Northville community; volunteering  at Mill Race Village with the Stone Gang or visiting Northville Downs. He was a kind, caring, and loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife Sandy; his daughters, Sue (Mike) Jelso and Amy Graham; and his grandchildren, Ryan Jelso, Andrew Jelso, Iain Graham, and Nina Graham.

A private family remembrance will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society , the Special Olympics , or a charity of the giver’s choice.
