Age 88, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on June 12, 2022. She was born on May 14, 1934 in Blue Ridge, Georgia; daughter of Hayden and Myrtle (Green) Queen. Margie was united in marriage to Freelin B. Robertson on February 24, 1988; devoted to each other for over 34 years.

Margie was born and raised in Blue Ridge, Georgia. She moved to Michigan in 1967 and has lived in Northville since 1975. Margie worked as a car seat cover sewer at General Motors for over 20 years; she retired when she was 62.

Her Christian faith was important to her. When she was able, she celebrated that faith at Legacy Church in Novi. Margie was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4012 and the American Legion Post 147. She was also a dedicated member of the Northville Eagles Club and Eastern Star.

Margie was a very talented and creative embroiderer. She embroidered detailed pillowcases for her loved ones during the holidays. Margie was an avid reader and loved to travel. Besides her hometown of Blue Ridge, Georgia, her favorite place to visit was Atlantic City. Often lucky, slot machines and blackjack were her games of choice. Margie was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her husband Freelin; her children, Marie (Andy) Bauer, Kathleen (Lewis) Hill, Elizabeth Ann Newton Day, and Rebecca Lynn Newton; her siblings Brenda Queen Golden and Reathel Hallett; 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her children, James Howard Newton, L.D. Newton, Carol Jean Newton Lane, and William Lee Newton; and her siblings, James Earl Queen, Louise Queen Bell, Billy Gilliam Queen, Louis Queen Green, Wendell Queen, and Claude “Buck” William Queen.
