Margaret L. Dingman

Age 89, of Northville, passed away on June 13, 2021. She was born March 2, 1932 in St. Johns, Michigan; daughter of Adam and Mildred (nee Skopek) Pelt Jr.  She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School, class of 1950.  Margaret was united in marriage to Owen C. Dingman on December 29, 1951; dedicated to their marriage for over 47 years until his death on February 7, 1999.

Margaret worked in the secretarial field for many years. Her last career position was head secretary for Giffels Associates, Inc.; she retired in 1998. Her most important job was caring for her sons. Margaret loved to cook; her specialty and her son’s favorite was idiot chicken. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was a gracious host. Margaret maintained a wonderful garden at home; her choice flowers were roses and iris’. Family meant everything to her; she treasured the conversations she had with her sisters and her sons.

Margaret is survived by her sons, James (Brenda) Dingman and Scott C. Dingman; her sisters, Dolores Pakes and Barbara Beyer; and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The visitation will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10am until Noon with the Memorial Service beginning at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.  Rev. Douglas W. Vernon will officiate the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the giver’s choice.
