Age 87, longtime resident of Novi, passed away April 18, 2022. She was born on March 4, 1935 in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania; daughter of Howard E. and Stella Marguerite (Winship) Baker. Gayle, as she was lovingly called, is survived by five children, one son-in-law, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gayle leaves behind her precious furry companion, Sara, a miniature poodle who filled her heart with so much love.

She graduated from Coudersport High School, class of 1953. Gayle continued her education at Madonna College in 1984, graduating with a Bachelor of Science. She was united in marriage on August 27, 1997 to Morris Lieberman; lovingly married for 23 years until his death in 2020. She created charming matching outfits for her young children, and later sewed her daughters’ prom dresses and wedding gowns.

Gayle loved being outdoors, sitting on her deck overlooking the lake and watching all the beautiful birds. She was an avid reader, adored the theater and taught her children the love of fine arts. They traveled to Stratford, Ontario, Canada countless times to attend the annual theater festival. She appreciated the finer things in life including indulging in fine dining. Gayle kept a meticulous home and had a vision for interior design. Her love of travel took her to places that most only dream about. She traveled to Bermuda, Alaska, Hawaii, Paris and even went on an African Safari. She also enjoyed many National Parks. But, her favorite place to be was near her childhood home in Pennsylvania where she hosted annual family reunions for 30 years.
