Louise C. Hackmann

Age 62, of Dearborn Heights, passed away on June 20, 2020.  She was born on August 14, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Edward and Irene (nee Nemceski) Witt.  Louise was united in marriage to Bruce Hackmann on May 21, 1994; they spent 26 loving years together as husband and wife.

Louise was a lifelong resident of Dearborn Heights and was currently living in the house she grew up in. She graduated from Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights; Class of 1975.  Following graduation, she continued her education at Henry Ford Community College.  Louise began her career at Oakwood Hospital as a nursing assistant in the pediatric department.  She later transitioned to Botsford General Hospital where she worked as an emergency room secretary.

Louise was an avid reader.  She enjoyed feeding and watching birds.  She also enjoyed spending time up north in Grindstone City.  Louise was a serious game player and especially liked to play cards.  She loved to go antiquing and had a beautiful hat pin collection.  She adored her dogs, Annie,  the late Sadie, and the late Carly and was supportive of dog rescues. Louise was compassionate and inquisitive; she was a loyal friend and will be missed by those who knew her.

Louise is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce E. Hackmann; and her siblings, Phillip Witt, Margaret Kaseta, Peter (Heidi) Witt, and Gloria Rogers.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

A time of gathering will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 11a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.  In true parrothead fashion, please come dressed in your favorite tropical/bright attire to honor Louise.

Due to the limitation of COVID-19 there is a maximum number of people allowed inside the funeral home.  We are asking visitors to wear masks and practice social distancing.  If you are experiencing signs of cold or flu symptoms, please refrain from attending. You may be asked to wait before entering, thank you for your patience and understanding.
