Louis J. Cattaneo

Louis J. “Lou” Cattaneo, age 79, of Bloomfield Hills, passed away May 15, 2019.  He was born August 6, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Alexander and Bernadine (nee Krause) Cattaneo.  He was united in marriage to Linda L. Griffin on December 24, 1973; they spent 45 loving years together as husband and wife.

Lou earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan where he became a lifelong U of M sports fan.  He later earned a master’s degree from Michigan State University.  Lou began his career with Ford Motor Company where he worked for 27 years.  He retired as a vice president from Paccar in 1997 after 10 years with the company.

Lou was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.  A world traveler, he loved planning grand family vacations, the last being a Mediterranean Cruise with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and cherished the memories they made.  He was a loving husband and father and the most fun grandfather.

Lou is survived by his loving wife, Linda L. Cattaneo; his children, Keith (Julie) Cattaneo, Craig (Kelly) Cattaneo, and Lisa Chester; his brother, Michael (Nancy) Cattaneo; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah Elizabeth, Victoria, Roxie, and Jenna.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

The visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. at Bagnasco and Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights.
