Linda C. Trommer

February 24, 1947 — January 13, 2022

Linda C. Trommer, age 74 of Northville, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2022. She was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter of James and Edna (nee Krueger) Hart. Linda was united in marriage to Paul G. Trommer on June 26, 1971. They were devoted to each other for over 43 years until his death in 2014. She made Lincoln, Illinois her home for over 50 years.

Linda graduated from Egyptian Community High School, class of 1964. In 1968, she received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University.  She was a dedicated teacher for over 25 years, mostly teaching 2nd grade at West Lincoln-Broadwell Elementary School. Linda also worked several years as a teacher of female inmates at Logan Correctional Center, where she helped them complete their educational goals.

Linda loved horses. Later in life she purchased and lovingly cared for two Tennessee Walkers, BJ and Lacey. She was an active member of Hopedale Riding Club and enjoyed riding trails with her friends. Linda was also a talented basket weaver and liked sharing her gift with others. She and her husband created a business called TnT Baskets and Country Crafts, where Paul would do the woodworking and Linda would finish the project. They would proudly display and sell their pieces at many local craft shows in Illinois. Linda had a green thumb; she grew vegetables and surrounded her home with beautiful flower gardens. Family was very important to her, and she was a very hands-on grandmother. Always positive, Linda was a sweet, gentle, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Corina) Trommer and Ryan (Sarah) Trommer; her grandchildren, Alexander, Santiago, Jet and Zac; and her siblings, Marcella (Dale) Lance, Donna Naas, Joyce (Kent) Ewing, Richard (Phyllis) Hart, and Larry (Dixie) Hart. Linda was also very well-loved by her many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, Gene Hart, Marcia Dee Moore, Eddie Hart, and Shirley Lee; and her infant siblings Barbara Sue Hart and Marvin Lee Hart.

Plans to honor and memorialize her will be made for a later date in Lincoln, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name would be appreciated to The Cloud Foundation ( https://www.thecloudfoundation.org/ ) or the Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Center ( http://www.pryormustangs.org/donations/ ) .
