Linda A. Crawford, age 73, a lifelong resident of Northville, passed away on February 28, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Alex and Edna (Martens) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Jack O. Crawford on August 19, 1972. They spent 51 loving years together devoted as husband and wife until his recent death on December 12, 2023.
Linda graduated from Northville High School; class of 1968. Following high school, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from Michigan State University, graduating with honors. Linda began her teaching career just out of college at Novi Public Schools. She taught English and History to 7th and 8th graders at Novi Middle School. She loved her job and was adored by her students, many of whom have kept in touch with her over the years. Linda eventually earned a Master’s degree while taking classes from home and juggling her work and family life. She retired as a beloved middle school teacher in 2017.
Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Linda used it to her advantage and traveled to sing during college. However, her favorite audience was her children as she sang to them often while they were growing up. Before she was in college Linda traveled with her family to 48 of the 50 states. Given the extensive travel she had done Linda was very content to be at home in retirement. She loved reading and the power of words. She was solicited by authors via Amazon to write reviews of the many books she read. Sharing her gift with others, Linda was often sought out by family and friends to aid them in anything they needed to write. She was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Linda is survived by her loving children, Jason (Tracie) Crawford, Dana (David) Tuckey, Ashley Crawford, and Justin Crawford; her grandsons, Scott Crawford and Nathan Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Eric Johnson, and her sister, Sharon Johnson.
