Krystyna Lepek, age 80, of Northville, MI, formerly of Poland, passed away on May 31, 2021. She was born on August 10, 1940 in Bialystok, Poland; daughter of Leon Wysocki and Jadwiga (nee Sawicka) Wysocka. She was united in marriage to Janusz Lepek in 1963; married for 56 years until his death in 2019. Krystyna moved to Texas in 1982 from Poland, moving to Michigan in 2013.
Krystyna worked extremely hard for her family and was goal driven. While in Poland she was a businesswoman and entrepreneur. Moving to the United States was not easy. She worked at the Physical Plant (Dormitories on Campus) and with students at Texas A&M University for 10 years. Krystyna enjoyed being a part of many young adults' lives and appreciated the love and respect she received from them.
Krystyna was very loving, caring, and persistent. She was a wonderful Babcia (grandma) and spoiled her grandchildren with love, support and of course gifts. She supported her grandchildren’s musical education and genuinely enjoyed listening to her granddaughter Laura play the piano and her grandson Jesse practice the trumpet for the school band. Krystyna encouraged her grandchildren to do what made them happy; most recently she encouraged her grandson to raise chickens. She loved nature and animals; going fishing with her son and grandson was one of her favorite pastimes. Krystyna was a traditional Polish cook. Grinding her own meat, she would make the most delicious golabki and kotlety. One of her Polish specialties was bigos, which is various meat, sauerkraut, and shredded fresh cabbage cooked to perfection. She liked to garden both floral and vegetable. Krystyna was very social, outgoing, and a great listener. She cherished her weekly talks with her siblings. Family was the most important part of Krystyna’s life.
She is survived by her loving children, Paul (Sibille) Lepek and Katherine Lepek; her grandchildren, Laura Lepek and Jesse Lepek; her brother Roman Wysocki; her sister Irena Gasperowcz; and her nieces, Bozena Kuchta, Malgorzata Zwiercan, Elzbieta Chaniewska, Grazyna Wysocka-Pietraczuk, and Jolanta Kucharska. Krystyna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Edward Wysocki.
