December 23, 1952 — February 16, 2022

Kevin Roe Goshorn

Age 69, a longtime resident of Farmington Hills, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022.  He was born on December 23, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Robert and Nan (Weidenkopf) Goshorn.  He graduated from Farmington High School; Class of 1971.  Kevin was united in marriage to Andrea (Torok) on June 3, 1978; they spent 38 loving years together until her death on November 26, 2016.

Kevin graduated from Ferris State University and spent his career as an optician, an expert in the fine craft of eyeglass making. Kevin was a lifelong member of Farmington Elks Lodge #1986 where he served as former exalted ruler for three years. Kevin was committed to volunteering his time to the Farmington community through the Elks organization; riding down Grand River in the Memorial Day parade, serving up his best ox roast under the Founder’s Festival tents; grilling up the perfect corn on the cob in July. Kevin was dedicated to annual traditions. A favorite was to honor his German heritage and take trips to Frankenmuth; for Oktoberfest and Zehnder’s for his favorite chicken dinner.  He was devoted to his wife Andrea and they loved to celebrate together, spending time with family and their dear friend Phyllis.

Kevin is survived by his children, Chad (Lydia) Goshorn, Casi (Marty) Croll, and Colby Goshorn; his grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Reece, Lucas, Silas and Logan; and by his brother Gregg (Bernie) Goshorn and his sister Tedi (Bob) Lojewski.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Kevin will be laid to rest with his wife at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Elks National Foundation , 2750 North Lakeview Ave., Chicago, IL 60614.
