Kerry “KC” Cecilia Kidder, age 67, of Northville, passed away on February 8, 2021. She was born on April 29, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Dr. Lawrence and Geraldine (nee McMahon) Beecher. KC was raised in Redford Township and graduated from Thurston High School, class of 1971. She and her husband Jeff have loved and lived in Northville for over 30 years surrounded by many family members.
KC worked at Delta Airlines as a reservationist for 20 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom for her daughters. KC and her extended family had an incredible bond which led to a unique experience of living in the same community with several siblings, nieces & nephews, and her in-laws. This closeness and enjoyment was also apparent in her genuine joy working at her sisters’ business, Parmenter’s Cider Mill.
KC was very creative and made beautiful quilts and unique knit pieces over the years. Her artistic side blended well with her love of children as she invented crafts and activities for her children, nieces, and nephews to enjoy. Family trips to Florida began when she was young and continued throughout her life. One of her favorite activities to do was watch space launches; she has always been interested in NASA. Since childhood, KC spent her summers in the Upper Peninsula at her best friend Debbie’s family cottage. This tradition carried on throughout her life and she took her daughters up every summer and later went just with Debbie to enjoy some girl time. Like a true water baby, KC never met a body of water she didn’t like. Whether it was swimming, boating, or just watching, KC felt most peaceful near water.
Above all else, KC loved children. Being a grandma brought her so much joy, her grandson fondly called her Cici. She was always a source of fun and laughter for her nieces and nephews as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews.
KC is survived by her husband Jeff; her daughters, Emma Kidder and Sarah (James) Miller; her grandchildren, Foster & Zoey Miller; her siblings, Cheryl (Rob) Nelson, Pam (Carl Follo) Beecher, Geoff (Cathy) Beecher, and Dr. David Beecher; and her lifetime friend, Debbie Page. She is also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Diane Jones and Debbie Abner.
