Kenneth Earl Hutchinson, age 91, longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021. He was born on February 25, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Douglas Earl and Mabel (nee Ashley) Hutchinson. While attending Fordson High School, Ken made the decision to serve his country and join the United States Navy. Immediately after his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Ken was drafted into the United States Army; he proudly served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4012 and the American Legion in Northville.
Ken was united in marriage to Geraldine K. Angove on May 3, 1958; celebrating their 63 rd Anniversary just a few weeks ago. He worked as a computer operations manager for Citibank for many years until he retired in 1989. Ken enjoyed playing games on his computer, playing cards with friends and family, and taking care of his yard. He liked to mow the grass and tend to his garden. His favorite pastime was camping. Their family started camping using a pop-up camper and over the years evolved to an RV. They traveled throughout the state of Michigan, experiencing many of the State and local parks. Visiting the U.P. was on the list of favorites, but the trip out west also created wonderful memories. In the later years, Ken and Geri would travel south to Texas during the winter months. Ken was extremely outgoing and had a great sense of humor. He loved talking to anyone who listened and made friends easily.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Geri; his children, Curtis (Kathy) Hutchinson, Lisa (Ray) Hendrikson, David Hutchinson, and Vicki (Don) Garon; his grandchildren, Elek (Rachael) Hutchinson, Gwen Hutchinson, Jessica (Steven) Tomlinson, Sarah Garon, and David Garon; and his great grandchildren, Harrison, Claire, and Delilah. He was preceded by his parents and his sister Dolores McCormick.
