Karen A. Jay
Age 66, of Walled Lake, formerly of Prince Edward Island, Canada, passed away on March 25, 2022. She was born on December 1, 1955 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada; daughter of Arthur Ervin and Charlotte Eunice (Champion) Jay. She graduated from Athena High School in Summerside; Class of 1974. Karen continued her education at Long Beach City College in California where she earned a certificate in travel and tourism.
Karen began her career as a flight attendant with Northwest in 1998.
She was currently working for Delta Airlines on their domestic routes.
Prior to moving to Michigan, she worked as a licensed realtor with Century 21 in California.
Karen was active; she enjoyed walking with friends and ran the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon in San Diego.
She loved cooking for others and was k
nown as the “Casserole Queen.”
Karen loved to listen to music and dance.
She was incredibly empathetic, a trait that helped her find music that spoke to her or chose a greeting card that matched an occasion perfectly. Karen was strong spirited and always fought for what she believed in.
Kind and generous to a fault, she always put others needs and comfort before her own. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her
greatest joy in life was being a mom and nana.
She adored her granddaughters and spent countless hours throwing dance parties, building forts and playing “Arendelle” with them.
She made such an impression on everyone she met that she will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her loving twins, James Evers and Terri (Brian) Sherry; her granddaughters Ella and Anna Sherry; her step-children, Wendy (John) Evers-Forrester, Tracy Evers, Sean (Stephanie) Clementher siblings, Ervin Jay, Sheila (Fred Coady) Bacon, and Scott (Kim) Jay; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
