Age 90, of Novi, passed away December 21, 2020.  She was born on January 30, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Dale and Dorothy (nee Dinsmore) Henry. After graduating from Cooley High School in 1948 she continued her education at Nursing School. Joyce was united in marriage to William D. Seeney on August 5, 1950; they were married for nearly 65 years until he passed away in 2015.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kevin (Betty) Seeney, Wendy (the late David) Smith, and Brian (Jennifer) Seeney; her siblings, Dale (Virginia) Henry and Carol Calcaterra; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Henry; her grandchildren, Christopher (Kay) Seeney, Ryan (Keri) Seeney, Patrick (Gillian) Seeney, Jeffrey Seeney, Andrea (Alex) Janks, Jacob Smith, Andrew (Spencer) Smith, and Adam Smith; and her great grandchildren, Jackson, Norah, William, Adeline, Elliott, Victoria, Josephine, Hudson, and more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Jack Henry, Gordon Henry, and Barbara Wilcox.

Joyce was a resident of Redford for 50 years before moving to Waltonwood Twelve Oaks Retirement Community, Novi earlier this year. She was a receptionist with Detroit Country Day School retiring after 20 years of dedication. Joyce raised her family in attendance as members of Redford Presbyterian Church and devoted herself alongside her husband until the church’s final closing ceremony, where she was recognized for her many roles including Mariner’s, leading Women’s Circle, and the annual Hanging of the Greens. She was always known as a hard worker, ready to serve in the kitchen, clean-up or wherever needed. Joyce was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Northville. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and quilting, and designed handmade beautiful quilts, unique for each family member. One of her many passions was travelling with her husband. They traveled extensively through every state in the US, and all over the world from Russia, Egypt, Scotland, and England, just to name a few. Their favorite places to visit were Nova Scotia, London, and Disneyland. Another much-loved pastime was camping with her husband and family. They were members of Weekend Moonlighters camping club, which took them all over Michigan and the surrounding states throughout their final years together. She continued camping at their seasonal home at Sandy Pines Recreational Community in Hopkins, along with her family. She was a devoted, hardworking, and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
