A very young 85, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2022. She was born on August 7, 1936 in Red Jacket, West Virginia; daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Collins) Taylor. Joyce was born and raised in West Virginia and has lived in Canton, Livonia, and most recently Novi. She graduated from Williamson High School in Williamson, Mingo County, West Virginia.

Joyce was a loving homemaker. She kept a clean and organized home. Joyce was an inventive and wonderful cook known for her famous fried chicken and potato salad. Her devotion to her Pentecostal faith was very important to her. Lately she enjoyed watching sermons online or on the television.

Joyce was an advocate for mental health and disabilities. She volunteered countless hours through the Love Organization in Livonia. She also volunteered at the Plymouth Center for Human Development with her daughter Tanya and her son-in-law Keith. The mayor of Livonia held a dinner for the Love Organization where both she and her daughter were honored.

Joyce had a very generous and giving heart. Most of what she gave, besides love, was from QVC. She was hooked on QVC and watched it religiously. She was proud of her online shopping skills and always made sure to share her purchases with others. Joyce had the gift of gab and enjoyed every moment she could talking with family and friends. Joyce was an incredible and kind mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her daughters Tanya (Keith) Novara and Margie C. Avery; her grandchildren Courtney Novara and Brandon Novara; her precious great grandson Luke; her sister Linda (the late Clifford) Bevins; her niece Gina (Greg) Meade; her dear friend Tammy Weidenhamer; and her extra granddaughters Heather and Autumn. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ernest Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
