John F. Folino

Age 90, longtime resident of Northville, passed away July 5, 2022. He was born on November 7, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Angelo and Natalie (Gallucci) Folino. John graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn; Class of 1950. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Ranger during the Korean War. John was united in marriage to Joyce S. Kastl on May 15, 1954; they spent 68 loving years devoted to one another. John was a successful businessman and a creative entrepreneur. He owned several automotive repair shops and was a land developer.

John was a perfectionist as a mechanic which was a trait that helped him when he restored classic automobiles. His favorite restoration was a 1931 Cadillac V16. John was an avid hunter and took several trips to Colorado to hunt mule deer. He enjoyed water skiing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle to Hell, Michigan. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all who loved him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Joyce S. Folino; his children, Thomas Folino, Natalie (Dennis Lyons) Kerns, and Annette (Rick) Knorpp; his sisters, Mary Daloisio and Nancy (Frank) Gallucci; his grandchildren, Morgan (Justin Schnell) Folino, Anthony (Melanie Foland) Folino, Gavin (Lani Geer) Folino, Brennan Folino, Jessica (Nick) Walters, Megan Kerns, Kyle Knorpp, and Tyler Knorpp; and his great grandchildren, Maxx and Lenni Walters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law Giovanna Conte Folino, and his brother Mario Folino.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Mr. Folino will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
